Mrs. Kimberly J. Tucker
Kimberly J. Tucker is the Director of Bands at Tennyson Middle School in Waco, TX. Her responsibilities include conducting the Honors Band; teaching the beginning flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and saxophone classes; and team-teaching the Symphonic/Concert Band and Jazz Band with her fellow band director assistants. Prior appointments include Director of Bands at Bussey Middle School in Garland, TX and DeSoto West Junior High School in DeSoto, TX. Mrs. Tucker has encouraged her students to become better music readers, more sensitive players, and mature, respectful young people; she has helped her students achieve top ratings at band contests, receive chairs in the All-Region Band, and superior ratings at solo and ensemble contests; while enhancing band programs through restructuring private lesson programs and reorganizing music libraries. Mrs. Tucker has instructed masterclasses; taught private lessons on flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone; adjudicated bands, solos, and ensembles; and commissioned works for wind band and solo flute including Amber Terrace Dreams (Christopher Tucker), Americans Lost (Christopher Tucker), Animal Krackers (Christopher Tucker), Forbidden "Flute" (Kyle Kindred), Radio Flyer (John Gibson), Cool Beans (Christopher Tucker) and Ole' Gramps (Mitchell Gilly).
As a performer, she has performed piccolo, flute, Eb soprano clarinet, Bb soprano clarinet, Eb alto clarinet, Bb bass clarinet, and Bb contrabass clarinet for solo recitals, charity events, fundraisers, weddings, choir concerts, various churches, the Arlington Community Band, the Texas Wind Symphony, and the Metropolitan Winds. Mrs. Tucker is currently a performer and member of the Board of Trustees for the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, as well as a member of the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles, Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, MENC (the National Association for Music Education), WBDI (Woman Band Directors International), National Flute Association, Texas Flute Society, and the International Clarinet Association. She has received various music and academic awards throughout her career including entries in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Education, Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who of Emerging Leaders, and Who's Who in the World. Mrs. Tucker received Teacher of the Year in 2020 and was a finalist for Waco ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year.
Kimberly J. Tucker received a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Texas A&M University-Commerce in August 2007 and a Bachelor of Music in All-Level Music Education from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX in May 2000. Mrs. Tucker currently lives in Waco, TX with her husband, Christopher and their dog, Bella. In her free time she enjoys reading, working out and jogging.

Ms. Amber Meeks
Amber Meeks is from Wylie, Texas, where she was a member of That Wylie Band. She attended Sam Houston State University, studying Music Education with an emphasis in Euphonium. Upon graduation, she started her teaching career in Huntsville, Texas and then moved to Bryan, Texas. Now, Amber Meeks is in her second year at Tennyson. If she had to pick one thing she loves about teaching, it would be seeing the light bulb turn on when a student figures out how to play something. She has three beautiful dogs - Sheeba, Zayda, and Zella. She also enjoys crocheting, hand embroidering, and crafting.

Mr. Jordan Meza
Jordan Meza serves as one of the assistant band directors at Tennyson Middle School. His responsibilities include directing the Jazz Band and teaching beginner trombone, horn, and euphonium classes, as well as assisting with the Honors, Symphonic, and Concert Bands.
Mr. Meza is in his first year of teaching at Tennyson Middle School. Prior to his appointment at TMS, Mr. Meza student taught at Grapevine High School with James Rees and Cross Timbers Middle School with Lara Whitehouse.
Mr. Meza is a native of Denton, TX, where he attended Guyer High School and graduated cum laude from the University of North Texas. While at North Texas, Mr. Meza studied euphonium with David Childs and performed with the UNT Brass Band, Wind Ensemble, and Green Brigade Marching Band.
Mr. Meza is happy to be at Tennyson for his first year of teaching. He enjoys seeing the excitement of students when learning an instrument! Mr. Meza’s professional affiliations include, TMEA, TBA, and Kappa Kappa Psi.
When he isn’t teaching, Mr. Meza enjoys working out, trying new coffee shops, and plane spotting!
