8th Grade / ATLAS
Mrs. Krystal Dora
Hello Texans! I am Krystal Dora, the 8th grade school counselor here at Tennyson Middle. I am a mother of two and a professional student of academia. As a school counselor and advocate, I provide support to our students in their academics, career, and personal/social. I believe it is important to provide support in all areas to assist our students in becoming productive and resilient students out in the community.
Education is important and I am here to help our students graduate and plan their next steps after high school. In 2011, I received my Associates in Science Degree in General Studies from Navarro College, and in 2015, I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from Tarleton State University! In December 2018, I earned my first Master in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis in Applied Behavioral Analysis from Arizona State University. Currently, I am seeking to obtain my second Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a school counselor certification in December of 2024. (*Side note* I have already taken and passed my certification to be a school counselor, I am just waiting to graduate from my program in December). I have years of experience working in mental health including maladaptive behaviors, where I help support students with a mental health condition(s) or families who are caring for a child with a mental health condition(s). I am also working towards obtaining my Licensure to become a Professional Clinical Counselor.
Life is a journey, not a destination... and as you embark upon this journey, I hope you keep your focus and accomplish everything you are striving for. Always REMEMBER that you can do hard things and the power of YET!
